Hair-dyeing, step-by-step
Take dye, comb and self into bathroom. Happily mix dye, almost apply to hair then realise that trying to remove t-shirt later for washing off of dye will be somewhat difficult and messy. Replace t-shirt coverage with bath towel. Return to bathroom.
Examine colour cream part of dye mix and wonder if it was that unusual blotchy colour last time. Half-arsedly check packaging for use-by date. Decide to use anyway.
Apply large amounts of dye to root area. Watch as significant amounts immediately slide off hair and into sink. Reposition so head is slightly more balanced and apply again. Make thorough mess of comb, sink and self in ensuring dye is evenly distributed. Wonder if the large quantities of dye inadvertently applied to forehead, neck, chest and left ear will show up later.
Return to room to wait out the 30-minute development period. Get hit in face by hair again.
Realise dye has now been on hair 10 minutes longer than recommended. Go to shower room, still wearing towel. Rinse until water runs clear...ish; at least it's not red anymore. Apply colour conditioner and notice it smells like citrus fruit. Wonder idly if this could attract insects. Dry off, wrap hair in towel, then realise returning to room with hair wrapped up like this would entail walking the corridor topless. Dry hair briefly then wrap self in towel instead.
In room, dry hair properly and attempt to take a photo for blogging purposes. Examine photo. Delete photo. Take another photo, this time remembering to put on a t-shirt first.
Enjoy shiny redness of hair... until it needs done again.
