Pub Crawls At A Glance

I had to stop by Sainsbury's in the town centre this evening. It seems tonight (Saturday) had multiple themed pub crawls running around town.

The redux version, for your enjoyment:

---

Group 1: Three undergrads in Viking helmets(ish) made from tinfoil cross Sidney Street without bothering to look for bikes to their right (they do remember to look the wrong way down the one-way street) and step out less than a yard in front of an oncoming bike. No crash, but the one slowest to start crossing - still standing in the road - yells "Biiiike!" to the others. The one that had almost been hit still hasn't looked round, but continues to the footpath on the other side before stopping and releasing a heartfelt "AIAAIAIIAIEEEAAAARGH", apparently finally noticing how close the bike had been. They then fail to unlock the college gate several times while a passing couple mutters, "Smackheads."

---

Group 2: The green and the yellow Power Ranger are walking down King's Parade holding their helmets. The costumes seem well-made and I really want to stare, but pedestrians are idiots on this street even when sober, so I have to focus on the road again pretty quickly.

---

Group 3: The blue Power Ranger appears to have been separated from the team, whether willingly or not, and is now escorting what could maybe be a male Carmen Sandiego(?) to the next pub.

---

Group 4: There is a random Indian chief walking towards town from near Lensfield Road. He looks lonely. A single male student who could be his friend appears, but I'll probably never know since as soon as he reaches the Indian chief he immediately changes direction and sprints across the road a few feet in front of my bike. The Indian chief looks even lonelier. I've continued past him at this point, but I imagine a solitary tear is tracing slowly down his cheek.

---

It's at times like these that I both wish I was an undergrad again, and thank every deity known to man that I'm not.
