May Week Assassins
Wooooo! I came 6th out of 50, but more importantly was the highest scoring player to have survived the entire game... and even better, Steve won!! Revs was shunted into second, and for some reason Maz appears to be third although considering recent events (a double-kill between Nick and Tom Booth) Nick should probably be in third... but the scoring system really is fairly well messed up. Sadly, I didn't quite break 200 points by the end of the game. 194 is decent, though.
Punts and things
... as in, vet punting last Thursday, and punting up to Grantchester with the BB O crew with disposable BBQs this week. Both were pretty good. Tom got stuck in a tree then fell in during the vet punting, and Thad and Gary made remarkable landings after bridging...
BB O punting was entertaining, once I was fully conscious (ice cubes are excellent; I'd never realised how useful they really are) - swans invaded our personal space, so Nick shot them with a CPS (ie. biiiiig water pistol, for those who don't know); barbecued food was really good (Ana being brilliant as always); got to practice a bit of judo, although I thought it might be unfair to use more than one move against someone who doesn't have a clue how to breakfall; watched Ramsey and Jo swim in the Cam - are you people aware of all the tiny things swimming in it you've probably swallowed?! There were definitely a few less-than-pleasant occurrences, for example Ana's foot... dear God, that must have been painful... and my very exciting experience of heatstroke (or something very like it) on the outgoing journey, with added sunburn. I think it says something about the craic at the barbecue that overall I consider it a good day...
Exams
So, I now know I've passed all my subjects. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Relief in waves.
The End of An Era
Blue Boar O as we know it is no more... several people remain; however, Kieran, Richard, Adam and Blaise have already left (in that order) - even Conterio has gone... I'm pretty down about it all (although enjoying the peace in terms of certain absentees :P), and fairly miserable at the thought that I'll be so far out from you all next year - please note that my room will be entirely available as a waystation for anyone who can't be arsed to head back up to Histon after a day's lectures or before a supervision.
Although I hear you guys are near an off-licence or something, so keep me informed on Histon parties... which reminds me - I'd like to offer my room up as a meeting place for a Children of BB O gathering at the start of next term, when we meet our college kids, as you can't expect the poor things to wander up to Histon Road (I'm still not entirely sure where it is) - also, nice G Burrell's kitchen for industrial amounts of pizza-cooking? Or lots of wine, whichever suits. I think I have cream-coloured carpet, though.
