Our first rotation of the term: equine.
In Norfolk.
We weren't quite sure whether we had to drive ourselves or not (last year's rotations often involved the school minibus), so emailed the office to ask. Office said yes. We then emailed to ask what we had to bring. Office supplied a short list.
Please note, details for every rotation are posted on the board - ours basically had "be at [place] in Norfolk for 10am." Every other session involving travel has a minimum of "Meet X at location Y [in vet school] to get minibus at Z o'clock. Bring items 1, 2 and 3."
When we did arrive - almost 30 minutes early - we ended up killing time until the vet arrived to start rounds, at 10.45... and then had to wait until some people had finished having tea, so by then it was 11 and we'd done little other than watch Greg's ear-scratching superpowers turn several horses into blissfully drooling idiots.
After that, we hung around, we watched lameness assessments (moving horses up and down) and dental work (moving things up and down in the horse's mouth)... then we went home again.
I'm not quite convinced that we as a group weren't slightly more organised than the people in charge of us, for once.
That's quite a jarring thought with so much learning left to go. ;)
