So begins a yearly tradition: "God, I'm starting to feel *old*."

This is more a placeholder than anything else. I want to add some photos of the amazing birthday dinner Han-Ley put together on the 15th (all in the aid of stirring up jealousy in my siblings, you understand), and I don't want to forget to do that; hence, placeholding post.

I also want to whine about turning 23 - not just whine, but persistently whine, turning over every angle to view every disadvantage and turn every neutral fact into a personal slight - so I can look back on this post in a couple of years and snort at the idiot child writing it, much like I did at diary entries about turning 14. However, I really can't be bothered.

Because I'm oooooollllld.

Still, it's nice to have an excuse for a formal and a party - this year ended up being a triple-birthday celebration between Richard (late by a month), me (late by a week) and James O'D (late by a few days, the lucky young biscuiteer), and was the first time I'd played host at Twinity for other vets - worth doing, since us Trinity vets are a dying breed. :(

Catering were their usual interesting selves, serving really good lamb shank in a portion best dealt with by picking up and gnawing, drumstick-style, to a roomful of well-dressed and possibly over-mannered people, none of whom wanted to be the first to admit defeat on the use of cutlery. Oh, and there was egg in the potatoes. Seriously.

James' birthday present of a beer chiller/dispenser unit proved very useful at the afterparty once we started mixing G&T in there... the previously-unknown experience of G&T on tap for all may explain some of the party conversation. At least, I hope it does... otherwise we've just got to blame Megan and Richard for all of that. :P
