Well, the job in Jessop's fell through. Here is what happened:
Friday: See "help wanted" sign. Ask for details. Agree to bring in CV for consideration. Arrive home late and go to bed.
Saturday: Write CV with several office hours left to spare of the working day. For some reason, no one goes into town.
Sunday: Visit grandmother. See Australian Circus. Visit aunt. Get migraine. Go to bed (alternately hyperventilating and, in the moments allowing coherent and non-swearword-based thought, wondering if they *really* were this bad when I regularly got them as a child). All done without passing anywhere near Jessop's.
Monday: Visit Jessop's to hand in CV and pick up photo enlargements. Get told the positions have been filled and that the enlargements won't be done until the next day.
... gnnnnnghhh.
Ah well. I have now also applied to the Inn at the Cross (a short distance down the road) for temporary bar-wench duties. It doesn't look great - they've "had a lot of interest" and are looking for someone with experience. Damn Cambridge and its rules about part-time jobs for students... :P
---
I went for a run up the road today with Tara-dog. It's the first time I've ever had to stop multiple times just to let her catch up with me.
I'm guessing, due to the multiple "please just let me die" moments I had on the way up the hill, it's due more to her slowing down than my condition improving. Her lump is absolutely massive. I wish we'd done something earlier.
