Is nothing sacred?

A series of events, in reverse chronological order:

8)
I go looking for something sweet to have along with my cup of tea.

7)
Gerard leaves the house, apparently while eating a cream finger.

6)
Louise has a cream finger offered to her by Kathryn, and naturally she takes it (for breakfast?).

5)
Gerard misses the bus.

4)
Kathryn eats a jam donut after her breakfast.

3)
Mammy Donnelly and I buy pastries at about 11am or so.

2)
Mammy advises me that Kathryn would eat either of a jam or normal donut and will stake an early claim, and Louise will eat either kind of donut, so there's no real need to buy two cream fingers. I still put two in the bag.

1)
I look at a selection of pastries in the shop to pick out a few for me and my sisters (Gerard should be leaving the house early and in a rush so will be unlikely to want one). I choose a sugared ring donut and a jam donut to keep my sisters happy - they like donuts. I have a very strong craving for a cream finger so buy two of those in case, while I wait for a decidedly non-breakfast time of day, one gets eaten by someone experiencing similar cravings (usually Louise)...

...
...
...

... because I don't like donuts.

Glazed donuts, yes.

Sugary ones can also be nice if you buy them straight from one of the vans that cook them for you while you watch.

But these were the kind which are cold and stodgy and not as nice. :(
