We also stood outside for a while watching the lunar eclipse - this is much easier to do here than at home, since it was a completely clear night - while waiting for the First and Third Boat Club to set a boat or two on fire. Not being a boatie, I can't explain it properly, other than to say it was a celebratory thing for winning important intercollegiate races, and that the crews jumped over the burning pile of wood after it had stabilised a bit.

Richard's parents left us at this point, and we ended up going to Richard's room to drink strangely-green cocktails brought back from the boatie party, learn how to tie bow ties (I still can't) and skim-read back issues of New Scientist (because we're cool like that).

Sunday was fun. :)
After getting dressed for the Master's Lodge Concert ("black tie preferred") we went for dinner. Visiting Café Rouge in black tie does tend to leave you feeling a little overdressed, but the food was very good.
The concert itself was also enjoyable - I don't generally tend to listen to classical music, but I very much appreciate hearing any music live, especially if it's done as well as these pieces were. I have a newfound understanding of exactly what a talented person can do with a recorder or accordian...
