*2007* - here you go lad, there's a new year. Try to take better care of it this time, will you?

Look at that shiny new year up there. Just look at it twinkling away there...

New years are always fun in theory, since you get to pretend that just because the calendar's changed again (our new one has photos of puppies on it, so I assume that Louise or Kathryn must have been involved somewhere in the choosing-calendar process) you stand no chance of making the same fuck-ups as in the previous year. Or, in the more optimistic view, you know the new year's coming up so you try to squeeze as many of the more amusing I-shouldn't-be's into the final week as you possibly can, in an attempt to get it all out of your system.

Guess which option I went for. :P

Anyway, apologies for not writing anything since before Christmas - last-minute shopping, the day itself, the clear-up, and pissing off to Newry for New Year's Eve may have derailed the writing-of-blog slightly. Here's hoping you all enjoyed your season of goodwill and presents and piss-ups (for those of legal drinking age)... :)

As the first post of 2007 I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to include my New Year's Resolutions in here somewhere, but listing things on a blog sort of goes against the "must stop procrastinating" one when I've got my laptop next to me just begging me to get back to... dissertating (is there a better word?). Suffice it to say that the big ones are healthy food, normal sleep pattern, occasional exercise, and a bit more work than I've been doing. Hopefully, with those slightly more in order than they were, I won't need to worry about stress relief quite as much.

If anyone's made more interesting resolutions than that (it wouldn't be hard...) I'd be interested in hearing them. :)

Happy 2007, everybody.
