Ana's 21st was actually last week, but what with her being away looking at mud all weekend (geologists are weird) the party was last night instead.
We got her 21 little (numbered) presents. :) The very nice chocolate cake from Fitzbillie's, suitably decorated with a white chocolate "21" and candles that spelled out Happy Birthday (!! ...I'm sorry, I get excited over inconsequential things, and those candles were very cool), would have probably made a better impression and been more of a surprise if it hadn't taken us about 10 minutes to find anything to light the candles with. The search included asking Ana if anyone in the building owned a toaster or something else with open heating elements, so it's probably just as well we got hold of a lighter in the end.
And there were vaguely childish party games, suitably altered for the rabble in attendance - for example, Pass the Parcel with forfeits on every layer of paper before the prize. The command to "choose a friend to act out what the group thinks should happen between you and the sailor after you get off the boat" was... interesting. The suggestion to "use her as a drug mule!" probably would have made more sense if she was getting on the boat, Sam...
Also, Nick plays aggressive Twister.
Aaaaaaand I've just recovered from a 10-minute sneezing fit. Thanks be to the patron saint of antihistamines and cold remedies!

You say agressive twister like it's a bad thing. What's the point of playing a game if it's not to win? ;)
