Ouch.

I managed to somehow fold a teatowel carefully enough that when I used it to help lift a baking tray, there was an unshielded gap of the right size and place to allow one fingertip through when I gripped the tray.

I have a grey-coloured, red-outlined patch on the tip of that finger now. And it seems to have both greatly reduced fingerprint depth and fine touch perception - I can't really tell the difference between touching the computer keys and touching my hair where the damaged fingertip is concerned.

Thankfully, all pain from the burn is gone now, although it hurt like hell yesterday after I did it, so I just have a very odd kind of numbness there at the moment.



On an unrelated note, bar billiards is addictive. I'd recommend it to anyone who can find a table - the nearest one I know of in Cambridge is in The Grapes on Histon Road. :)
