Chinese food & dogs

Made rice again last night - Cez was interested in trying the previously-described-in-great-detail meal, and brought a biiiig frying pan/wok-type-thing with her so pan space wasn't an issue.

It was again very nice (I think) and had red pepper in this time as well. Afterwards, Cez ate the remainder of the mushrooms, and we drank Coke and played pool (I won a game! Yaaaayyyy! That'll keep me going for the next 3 months of playing) and giggled like the children we were every time Steve talked about proper ball placement/balls being trapped.

Cez gave me chocolate biscuits. Mmm, bikkit. ^_^

Having switched on my DS for the first time all term - it was a busy term, after all - I realised exactly how neglected my Nintendogs puppy was and decided the best thing to do might be to restart (I'd also terminally confused some commands for it, but never mind). I didn't feel too guilty doing so... at least, I didn't until Steve made a gun-cocking motion towards the DS.

"Old Yeller! Noooooo!"

(No, my dog was not called Old Yeller, but it was a Labrador.)

Can anyone remind me if there was an Old Yeller theme song and what the words were? I impulsively started singing "Old Yeller, Ollllld Yeller... something... friend ever true (bugger, that's Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, isn't it)" about 3 seconds ago, so I'd be grateful if someone could set me straight.

Anyway, I now have a new Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy called Sparkles (Steve was excitably yelling names at me, so I picked the stupidest suggestion besides "Winthorpe"). Technically, its name is "Sparkle", since the name field doesn't accept more than 7 characters and it didn't tell me this until I'd yelled the name 15 times into the microphone along with one muttered "bloody hell" when I almost slipped off while sitting on my bed. The dog seemed to recognise this as her name as well, which led to much laughing and then actually falling off the bed.

After quite a lot of time messing around trying to teach her to catch a frisbee (which she's now - finally - reasonably good at), it's also been conclusively proved that the dog's a bit of a muppet. Typical corgi. I also feel I probably shouldn't have introduced Steve to Nintendogs, since he spent the better part of an hour playing with and walking Sparkles...
